A legal pad that adds itself up.

Log labor, materials, equipment, per diem, and subs by the day against your own rate sheet. Relay does the math and builds an itemized invoice the adjuster can follow.

What it does

From the daily log to the invoice.

Everything a T&M bill needs, entered once and totaled as you go.

  • Your rate sheet: labor classes, materials, and equipment day rates
  • Import an existing price list from CSV
  • Daily labor, materials, equipment, per diem, and subcontract entry
  • Standard and premium hours calculated from time in and time out
  • Small tools, subcontract markup, and sales tax by category
  • Approved Time Tracking hours fill in labor automatically
  • Itemized invoice PDF under your franchise name
Capabilities

Inside time and materials.

Simple enough to fill in on site. Detailed enough to get paid.

Daily entry

Type what happened. It adds itself up.

Start a T&M job from your price list and log each day on simple tabs: labor, materials, equipment, per diem, and subcontract. Type a name and the classification and rate fill in. Enter time in and time out and Relay works out the hours, splits standard from premium, and prices the line.

  • Autocomplete from your own rate sheet
  • Premium hours outside your standard window and on weekends
  • Per job settings for tax, per diem, small tools, and markup
Connects to Time TrackingApproved clock-in hours feed the labor tab.
The invoice

An invoice the adjuster can follow.

The invoice PDF carries your franchise name and logo, not ours. It opens with a cover page and the billing total, then a summary of charges by category with tax broken out, then every line item behind it. Empty categories are left off, so the adjuster only reads what was billed.

  • Cover page, summary of charges, line-item detail
  • Screen and PDF use the same math, so totals match
  • Your branding on every page
Connects to JobsLink the T&M job to the job it belongs to.
Built for restoration

T&M billing isn't an estimate.

Why emergency and large-loss work needs its own billing tool.

  • Legal pads don't add themselves up

Emergency and large-loss work is billed on time and materials because the scope isn't known up front. Relay keeps the daily log and the running total in one place.

  • Late timesheets mean late invoices

When labor comes in days later, the bill waits. Approved hours from Time Tracking land on the T&M job on their own.

  • Adjusters reject what they can't follow

An itemized invoice with a clear summary of charges and tax by category answers questions before they are asked.

  • Built for the contractor

Your rates, your markup, your name on the invoice. Not a carrier-side pricing tool.

Time & Materials FAQ

Questions about time and materials.

More on the FAQ page.

Can we bring our existing price list?

Yes. Import a price list from CSV, or start from the CSV template. Labor classifications, materials, and equipment rates come in together.

How are overtime-style rates handled?

You set a standard weekday window. Hours outside it, and optionally weekend hours, bill at your premium multiplier.

Do we have to enter labor twice?

No. If your crew uses Relay Time Tracking, approved hours on a linked job become labor rows on the T&M job automatically.

Whose name is on the invoice?

Yours. The PDF carries your franchise name, logo, address, and phone.

Can we use T&M without the Jobs module?

Yes. A T&M job can stand alone, or link to a job in Relay Jobs to pull in its details.
